Manisha Koirala has finally given the details of her upcoming movie project as a producer and director. The movie will be made on the life story of the king who unified Nepal, Prithivi Narayan Shah. Manisha is currently writing the script of the movie. She told that the script writing is in the last stage and the movie will go on floor in May of 2012.
The movie will feature Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal in the role of the king. Manisha is yet decide on the female lead.
Prithivi Narayan had been portrayed as the symbol of unification of the country during royal rule in the country. After the conversion of the country to a republic, some forces are trying to modify the history by dark sides of Prithivi Narayan. At this political turmoil, a movie on kings would certainly be criticized by some of the people.
Manisha had announce her intention of movie directing for a long time. She had renewed the intention last year in a more definite terms and, it seems the day has come to leave her mark as a director too. As a producer, her last movie Paisa Vasool (2004) wasn’t that successful. Let’s hope the upcoming movie will be successful in every aspect.
