Manisha to direct and produce a movie on ancient Nepali King Prithivi Narayan Shah

Manisha Koirala has finally given the details of her upcoming movie project as a producer and director. The movie will be made on the life story of the king who unified Nepal, Prithivi Narayan Shah. Manisha is currently writing the script of the movie. She told that the script writing is in the last stage and the movie will go on floor in May of 2012.

The movie will feature Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal in the role of the king. Manisha is yet decide on the female lead.

Prithivi Narayan had been portrayed as the symbol of unification of the country during royal rule in the country. After the conversion of the country to a republic, some forces are trying to modify the history by dark sides of Prithivi Narayan. At this political turmoil, a movie on kings would certainly be criticized by some of the people.

Manisha had announce her intention of movie directing for a long time. She had renewed the intention last year in a more definite terms and, it seems the day has come to leave her mark as a director too. As a producer, her last movie Paisa Vasool (2004) wasn’t that successful. Let’s hope the upcoming movie will be successful in every aspect.

Manisha had in a numerous times indicated that she might start social work in future. Last time when she donated warm clothes to street kids and posed for a photo with them, she gave a hint that she might do such social work in an organized way.

Amongst tense personal life (including that of a divorce) and various plans including that of starting film direction, she is currently in de-stressing mode with yoga and meditation sessions (in August, she was seen in Osho Ashram in Kathmandu).

Manisha is currently in a month-long visit of India. There are rumors of comeback of Manisha in Bollywood but, she hasn’t agreed to do movies yet. There is another rumor about a debut movie in Malayalam language too.

Divorce rumor starts again

According to a news report in NDTV, Manisha has decided to separate herself from her husband of less than two years, Samrat Dahal, and move back to Mumbai to settle. Manisha married a Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal in a big ceremony in June 2010.

It was not a secret that the couple weren’t happy with each others and Manisha Koirala’s divorce rumors started six months after her marriage when she posted a Facebook message about seeking a divorce. Later, Manisha told that she was angry with her husband at that time and it was only a minor issue. But, it was not the end. She later posted that her husband was her worst enemy.

Now, while living in Mumbai for the last month, she might have finally decided to let it go and live a free life. She reportedly told about the paper works with her friends in a party organized in her residence.

If the relationship is not going on well, holding it for longer won’t make it any better. But, if the issues are mendable, divorce should be the last thing to do, only if all other options are exhausted.
